Virus

A program that can copy itself and infect a computer. A harmful program is deemed a “virus” if it possesses reproductive abilities and can spread from one computer to the next. Viruses can increase their chances of spreading to other computers by infecting files on a network file system or a file system that is accessed by another computer. Malware and other dangerous programs like worms are not considered computer viruses because they cannot be spread or reproduced.
