Government agency active under the Department of Homeland Security which is charged with providing a response, support and defense against cyber attacks for the Federal Government. Interacts with several federal agencies, industries on the federal, state and local levels.  US Cert is located in Washington DC and is a public-private partnership. US-Cert began at the Carnegie Mellon University in 1988.
