RAM

RAM, which stands for Random Access Memory, is the part of a computer that stores the operating system, application programs, and data currently being used. It is comprised of small memory chips that create a memory unit that is then fit into the RAM opening of the motherboard. The computer's processor can access the RAM more quickly than the hard drive and, therefore, the amount of RAM in a computer correlates with the speed of the device.
